WHERE TO TAKE YOUR LAPTOP: ST KILDA’S BEST WIFI CAFES
Updated: May 24, 2019
In St Kilda you have to hunt around for the hangouts that offer both delicious coffee and free WIFI. They are few and far between.
But it’s better than sprawling out on your bed like Carrie Bradshaw and even if you don’t feel like turning on your laptop, you can still sip on a delicious flat white and gaze out the window reflectively.
Here are the best work places in St Kilda that I have found.

Barzar Lounge
If you need to get important work done and not just check your Facebook likes, this is the hideaway for you.
Down the end of a side street but only steps away from the bustling Acland St, this scores highly for it's chill factor, its seasonal menu and its mellow background music. It even has outdoor laptop friendly tables.
The friendly husband and wife team plus their staff will provide you with a password when you buy your coffee and within a few seconds, you’re ready to take on the world.
Dog’s Bar
If you’re looking for a homely hangout with a heart, head to the Dog’s Bar living room that is framed by not one, but two cosy open fireplaces.
Here you can fill up on the Thursday $30 steak and wine night or buy a delicious cinnamon infused cappuccino. If you are not thirsty or peckish simply check-in on their Facebook page. That’s all you need to do to gain immediate access to the free Wi-Fi at this generous establishment.
Take out your laptop and find an outdoor table, as you are unlikely to get much done inside when live music starts pumping nightly by 9 pm.
Hide and Cheek
When I first walked into this bar I fell in love. It’s a quirky little cafe tucked down the end of Inkerman street.
The good coffee and tasty food keep the locals coming back for more.
Just head to the counter, order your coffee and ask for the Wi-Fi password. It’s cosy and relaxed.
I’m positively smitten and I’m sure you will be too.
